About Germaine Health Center

The GHC is a secure online platform that helps to manage all the aspects of a hospital/clinic, from the finances to the patients. It can help to keep track of appointments, medications, and treatments, as well as billing and payments. It also streamlines communication and workflow between departments such as Radiology, Laboratory, and more.

Additionally, the platform allows real-time communication between healthcare providers and patients. It can provide remote care, monitor patients, and manage health records. Overall, the GHC platform helps hospitals/clinics run efficiently 24*7 while improving patient care and outcomes.

Challenges Addressed by us

The GHC project was unlike any other project our team had worked on before. It had a unique set of challenges.

  • Design user-specific web and mobile panels:  for Patients, Hospital/Clinic Staff, and Admins. And also ensure that these panels were in perfect sync for uninterrupted communication back and forth. On top of it, we had to ensure that the platform was accessible from any device or browser.
  • Design and Efficient Database: We had to create the technology framework to handle the large volume of data generated by a hospital and ensure patients’ data is safe and the platform will not go down during critical moments.
  • Creating a User-friendly Interface: The platform had to be easy to use and navigate for the hospital/clinic staff to manage the hospital efficiently. Hospital administrators should be able to access the platform and input or retrieve data quickly. The system was also required to update information in real time.
  • Ensure Security and Privacy: We had to create a secure and reliable system for every user. Hackers often target hospital management systems, so the platform must withstand attacks.
  • Seamless Integration and Scalability: Another challenge was to ensure that the platform must be able to integrate with existing hospital systems and be able to scale to accommodate increasing demand.

Developing a platform that meets all of the above criteria was challenging. But we knew we had the right mix of expertise and experience to deliver as per client expectations and goals.

What Plans & Solutions We Implemented?

Our team already had an excellent working knowledge of the healthcare software management solution. It made our task a bit easier. We began by considering the platform’s specific needs. We set a clear and concise plan for development. All members of the team were always willing to adapt to changes. Wherever issues arose, the team communicated effectively, including the client, and worked together to find a solution.

The technology framework we chose for the project was:

Html/CSS, Javascript

We used HTML to create the platform’s structure, CSS to style the platform, and JavaScript to add interactivity. We created a responsive user interface for every panel (admin/doctor/staff/and patients) that would be compatible with various devices.

.Net MVC

We used .NET MVC to create a web-based interface for managing patient information, scheduling appointments, and tracking payments and insurance claims. Additionally, .Net MVC was used to create a custom reporting system that allows hospital/clinic staff to track key performance indicators and patient outcomes.

We knew hospitals would generate a large amount of data. We used DB-MSSQl to store patient data, track appointments, and manage billing and payments in real-time. Using the DB – MSSQl was a good choice, as it can provide several benefits, such as reliability and scalability, and handle a large amount of data without compromising platform performance.

React Native for Mobile

It offers a high degree of flexibility and customizability, which is essential for a platform accommodating a wide variety of users and use cases. It also is apt for developing cross-platform apps that work seamlessly across all device types.

Once we were clear about the technology stack, the next step was to divide the work so that everyone knew what they were responsible for. Throughout the development cycle, the client communicated weekly progress reports. Based on the feedback received, our team was always willing to make updates where necessary and adapt to project changes.

When the coding stage was complete, we tested the platform manually to ensure all the features worked adequately and met the hospital’s needs. We also created a simulated environment against a set of test data to ensure that the data was processed correctly.

Features of GHC Platform

The most important features of a hospital will vary depending on its size, type, and specific needs. We had to create an extensive list of features to ensure that the platform could serve hospitals/clinics of all scales and sizes. It was, of course, done using client inputs and through research about the GHC platform’s target audience.

The features of the platforms can be categorized into four categories:

  • Patient Level Features include Registration/Log-in, Appointment Booking, Call/Video Consultation, Online payments, Ambulance booking, Order medications, and Order Lab/radiology tests.
  • Doctor Level features include Calendar View, Patient history tracker, e-prescriptions, dedicated profile pages, and more.
  • Department Level Features such as budgeting and forecasting tools, tools for managing inventory and supplies, etc.
  • PCC Level Features include Patient registration, Patient tracking, Prescription tracking, and Inpatient and outpatient tracking.
